A regional airport in Kota Bharu put BRX-TS900 flap barrier turnstiles on its staff and crew access points, so 1,900 daily staff movements clear the gate line in under 3 seconds each while every passage is logged.

Challenge
Staff and aircrew passed through a staffed wicket that was slow at shift changeover and produced no reliable record of who was airside. The airport also needed to demonstrate access control to its regulator without adding headcount.
Solution
Six BRX-TS900 flap barrier turnstiles were installed on three access points reading the airport's existing staff cards, with bidirectional tailgating detection, a break-glass release and a fire-alarm interface that opens all lanes on evacuation. Passage events stream to the security office over the airport network.
Result
Average passage time dropped below 3 seconds and shift-changeover queues disappeared, the airport can now produce a per-person airside access record on demand, and no extra security staff were required.
