Project Case — Factory Boom Barrier, Shah Alam

A metal-fabrication plant in Shah Alam fitted a BRX-8000 heavy-duty barrier on its 8-metre container entrance, so laden 40-foot trailers now clear the gate without the arm being raised manually or damaged.

Challenge
The original 6-metre barrier arm could not span the container lane and had been struck three times in 18 months; the plant also had to post a guard to hold the arm open for every trailer, which delayed dispatch and created a safety exposure for pedestrians crossing the lane.
Solution
We installed a BRX-8000 heavy-duty barrier with a reinforced 8-metre arm, a 3.0–6.0 second opening time matched to the vehicle profile, and a dual inductive loop that holds the arm open until the trailer has fully cleared. Warning beacons and a safety photocell protect the pedestrian crossing.
Result
In 14 months of operation there have been no arm strikes, trailer dispatch has stopped waiting on a guard, and the plant estimates roughly 25 minutes of daily production time recovered from the old manual gate process.
